The basics of Pai Gow Poker are very simple. Like blackjack, it is a table game played with cards against the casino or house. You are dealt 7 cards and you have to set your hand to make 2 poker hands; one of five cards and one of two cards. The two card hand cannot have a higher poker value than the five card hand. The dealer also gets 7 cards and sets his hand to make a five card and a two card poker hand. Once the hands are set the player and dealer can compare hands. If BOTH your two card and five card hands are higher than the dealer's, you win. If BOTH the dealer's hands are higher than yours, you lose. If you each win one hand it is a push. While up to six players can play against the house at one time, the players are not competing against each other. That's all there is to the basic game.
